Rental Property Mortgage
A rental property mortgage (sometimes called a buy-to-let mortgage) is a loan used to purchase a property the borrower intends to rent out rather than occupy. Lenders typically require 15–25% down, higher credit scores, and charge higher rates than for primary residences. Rental income may be counted toward qualifying income, but lenders typically only credit 75% of it to account for vacancies and expenses.
