Mortgage Banker
A mortgage banker is a lender that originates mortgage loans using its own funds and typically sells them to the secondary market (e.g., Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac) after closing. Unlike mortgage brokers, mortgage bankers lend directly and can often make faster decisions because they control the entire lending process in-house. They may also service the loans they originate.
